Find a tutor, choose a trial, single lesson or package, pick a time and check out. The tutor then has 2 days to accept your request.

Yes. You can cancel or reschedule an upcoming lesson up to 12 hours before it starts. After that, cancel and reschedule close — there is no partial charge. Canceling a trial or single lesson returns the net amount to your CharlieTalk wallet (card processing fees are not returned). Canceling a lesson from a package puts that lesson credit back on the package so you can book another time. Pending requests can be canceled anytime before they are accepted.

Students pay a card processing fee when paying by card: 2.9% + $0.30 for US cards and 5.4% + $0.30 for other cards. Paying from your wallet has no fee. Tutors pay a 15% commission on each completed lesson.

Yes, 180 days after purchase. Unused lessons aren't refunded. The money for them is split 50/50 between the tutor and CharlieTalk.

Refunds go to your CharlieTalk wallet. You can use the balance for future lessons or withdraw it (minimum $30).

After the scheduled end time, open the lesson and select Report a problem. The other person can accept or decline. If they don't respond within 2 days, the report is resolved automatically.

Apply from the Become a tutor page. Reviews usually take 7 to 14 days, and the reviewer may ask you to do an interview and a demo lesson. You can re-apply if you're not approved. Once approved, you set your own schedule and rates. We currently accept tutors for English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian.

Earnings reach your wallet when each lesson is completed. You can withdraw to bank transfer, PayPal, Payoneer or Wise (minimum $30), and withdrawals are paid twice a month.
