Great lessons start with respect.

CharlieTalk connects real people for real conversations — tutors sharing what they know, students working toward fluency. That only works if everyone feels safe and respected, in lessons, in chat, and everywhere in between. Here's what we expect from our community, and how we keep CharlieTalk a place worth learning in.

Tutor

Our core principles

Every interaction on CharlieTalk — lessons, messages, reviews, profiles — is built on these four ideas.

Respect each other

Treat every tutor and student with courtesy. Harassment, abuse, or discrimination has no place here, in a lesson or out of one.

Be honest

Your profile, experience, and reviews should reflect who you really are. No fake credentials, no fake feedback.

Keep it safe

We take zero chances with exploitation, threats, or any behavior that puts a tutor or student at risk.

Protect privacy

Don't share anyone's personal details — yours or someone else's — without clear consent.

What's not allowed

These rules apply everywhere on CharlieTalk — during live lessons, in chat, on profiles, and in reviews. Breaking them can lead to account action.

Harmful or abusive behavior

  • Hate speech, racism, or discrimination of any kind

  • Sexual harassment, threats, bullying, or intimidation

  • Obscene language or inappropriate content

  • False, misleading, or defamatory claims about someone

Platform abuse

  • Misrepresenting your credentials, identity, or background

  • Manipulating ratings, reviews, or rankings

  • Creating multiple tutor or student accounts

  • Sharing your login with someone else

  • Booking or paying for lessons outside CharlieTalk

Security violations

  • Malware, viruses, or other harmful code

  • Unauthorized access to CharlieTalk systems or accounts

  • Scraping or harvesting data from the platform

  • Spam, phishing, or unsolicited promotions

A note on lessons: CharlieTalk is for learning, not outsourcing. Using a tutor to write your essays, complete assignments, or sit exams on your behalf isn't allowed — and usually breaks your school's own honor code too.

If the rules are broken

We look at what happened and respond in a way that fits it. Depending on severity, that might mean:

Suspension

Temporary restriction

Limited or paused access to CharlieTalk while we look into it.

Removal

Account termination

Permanent removal from the platform for serious or repeated violations.

Other action

Additional measures

Anything else needed to keep the community safe and fair.

If you're experiencing harassment on CharlieTalk, you can report it any time — we investigate every case.
